Embedded systems engineer specializing in IoT architectures, secure firmware, PCB design, and TinyML at the edge. Turning hardware and software into reliable, intelligent systems.
I'm Mahmoud, an Embedded Systems Engineer and MSc student in IoT & Smart Systems at FH Technikum Wien. My work focuses on designing and developing connected systems that combine electronics, embedded software, and intelligent data-driven technologies.
My background spans engineering, research, and teaching. I have worked on projects involving embedded systems, IoT applications, smart sensing, and edge AI, with a particular interest in building practical solutions that bridge hardware and software.
Before moving to Vienna, I was a Lecturer at the University of Pécs, where I taught courses in PCB Design, Measurement Technology, and Microcomputers, as well as foundational electrical engineering and digital systems subjects. Alongside teaching, I mentored students on projects covering the full development process, from hardware design and embedded programming to system integration and testing.
A full-stack embedded toolkit — from schematic capture and soldering irons to containerized microservices and TLS-secured brokers.
From competitive international engineering challenges to university lecturing and research.
End-to-end builds spanning wearables, cloud pipelines, PCB hardware, and on-device machine learning.
Conferences, competitions, and outreach — bringing embedded systems work into the broader engineering community.
Beyond engineering and research, I've taught at the University of Pécs, working with both Bachelor's engineering students in core courses and preparatory school students building their first foundations in electronics and digital systems.
Whether you're working on an IoT product, need embedded firmware expertise, or want to collaborate on research — I'd love to hear from you.
